Gerd Treffer, the youth director of Ahrweiler BC, has found someone within his own ranks in the search for a youth coordinator for the development area (D and C juniors). Patrick Groß, who just last season won the district championship with his team as the D-junior coach, will in future be responsible for the entire coordination of the 2005 to 2008 birth years and will act primarily as a link between the coaches, players and the youth management. In addition, Groß will also be responsible for developing an age-appropriate training concept based on uniform focal points. New and more effective paths are also to be pursued in the area of scouting with the 25-year-old from Kempenich.
"Unfortunately, due to my studies, I can no longer perform my coaching duties. The fantastic and successful youth work and Youth Director Gerd Treffer convinced me to stay with Ahrweiler BC. I am looking forward to working with the coaches and players as youth coordinator and being an additional point of contact," said Patrick Groß regarding his new role. "It's great to have found an absolute expert like Patrick for one of the central positions in youth work," Youth Director Gerd Treffer is pleased to say. Olaf Witthaus is responsible for coordinating the performance sector (A and B juniors), while Thomas Meyer takes care of matters in the grassroots sector for the E, F, and G juniors.
