Ahrweiler BC supports its players in their search for apprenticeships and jobs

Starting this summer, Ahrweiler BC will host a networking event for the first time, bringing together its primarily very young players and its supporters. Specifically, interested individuals will meet with business leaders and have the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at their companies and gain insights into work processes. The goal is to create opportunities for players to access interesting apprenticeships, practical experience for dual study programs, internships, as well as full-time, part-time, and holiday jobs. In addition, those just starting their careers will receive professional support, for example, through preparation for job interviews or assistance with creating cover letters.

"Performance-oriented and young athletes who train three times a week with discipline are very interesting to many potential employers. Furthermore, similar events are very rare in our district. From our perspective, this is a win-win situation for both the individual companies and the applicants. This event does not conform to the usual job fairs, but rather stands out positively from them in both depth and quality," says Gerd Treffer, who, along with his board colleague Michael Lorca, oversees this project of the traditional club from the Ahr Valley. In view of the possibility that current official regulations may still be in effect at the time of the event, the feasibility of a digital offering is also being examined.
