"THIRD" CELEBRATES 4-2 AWAY WIN – COMEBACK DELUXE FOR DENIS ZOGAJ

The red and whites from the district capital clearly and deservedly won 2-4 (1-2) on the road against VfR Waldorf on the weekend. Denis Zogaj made a perfect comeback after a year and a half football break. The "new signing" scored twice in his first senior match. With one match day left in the season, the team confirmed their fifth place in the Kreisliga C with their eleventh win of the season.

From the first minute, the game on the hard pitch in Waldorf left no doubt who absolutely wanted to win this match. The ABC started disciplined, with pressure, and confidently on the ball. The early opening goal for a 0-1 lead (7th minute) by Bilal Elgergawy from a penalty was followed by further scoring chances, which, however, could not be converted. This circumstance, as well as the equalizer in the 27th minute of play, did not, however, deter the team of Mohamed and Ualied Abou-Ayda from the path they had embarked upon at the start of the game. Elgergawy added to the score with his second goal in the final minute of the first half, making it 1-2.

Denis Zogaj was substituted in at halftime and immediately made an optimal impact in his first game of the season and his senior debut. The footballing aesthete, playing in the number ten position, left his opponent behind with a skillful dribble after a pass from Furkan Kalin and scored an unstoppable shot to take a 3-1 lead (54th minute). From then on, goal-scoring opportunities came thick and fast. However, Waldorf keeper Aaron Lang was always on his toes. Even before the home team scored their second goal in the 88th minute, it was Denis Zogaj again who extended the score to 4-1 (84th minute) with a long-range shot. A dream debut for the offensive player who came through the ABC youth system. Even though the conversion of chances left room for tactical criticism, the coaching staff were more pleased with Denis Zogaj's successful performance. "Denis delivered and impressed right away after such a long break from football," said Mohamed Abou-Ayda, whose team will conclude a successful season next Saturday in a home game against SG Kempenich II. The Kreisstadtkicker are currently in second place in the second half of the season table.
