AHRWEILER BC III: 6:2 HOME OPENER VICTORY

On Friday evening, Ahrweiler BC III was able to win their home opener in the current Kreisliga C season 6-2 (2-2) against SG Ahrtal II, following up on their 3-1 opening victory against SV Kripp II.

The team of Mohamed and Ulaied Abou Ayda started resolutely, created good scoring chances, and almost logically took a 1-0 lead through Benedikt Ferber (15'). However, instead of playing more freely and adding to their lead, the team lost control of the game and had to chase a deficit after two goals from the visitors (19' and 30'). They managed to equalize with Adnan Gerguri's goal to make it 2-2 (37') after a pass from Benedikt Ferber.

Head coach Mohamed Abou-Ayda took a lot of time for his clear halftime talk. "Except for the result, the whole game offered hardly any positive aspects," said the coach, dissatisfied with his players' performance after the final whistle. Exceptions to this criticism include Besmir Bajcinca (photo) and Benedikt Ferber, who impressed as active players throughout the entire 90 minutes. Bajcinca also scored the go-ahead goal again after halftime with a left-footed shot from 16 meters, and Omer Zoranovic added a fourth goal to make it 4-2 after a misunderstanding in the visitors' defense. Adnan Gerguri controlled a long ball from Tobias Gemein and scored to make it 5-2 in the 75th minute, before Besmir Bajcinca sealed a deserved 6-2 victory with an assist from Marco Schuhmacher. Little came from the B-Klassen reserve team of SG Ahrtal towards the ABC goal in the second half.

Without their leader Furkan Kalin (on vacation), ABC III got off to an optimal start with six points from two games. On Sunday, an away game against the promoted team and league favorite SG Inter Sinzig/SG Bad Breisig II awaits, a test that will be far trickier than the past 90 minutes on Friday evening.
