++RHEINLAND CUP: B II-JUNIORS ADVANCE TO THE NEXT ROUND AFTER AN EXCITING CUP FIGHT++

Many setbacks during preparation, no test match, and only a mini-squad of twelve players: the B II juniors coached by Saskia Oebel-Noack and Andre Noack had a cold start to competitive play on Wednesday evening. However, it was a successful cold start. The team won 0-1 (0-0) on the hard court in Irlich against JSG Irlich/Wied, who are currently playing in the district league qualification.

The ABC defense managed to force the offensively oriented opponent into long shots at the beginning of the game through defensive behavior recently practiced in training, but all of them missed their target or were saved by goalkeeper Leo Argendorf. Towards the opponent's goal, the young ABC players failed to achieve a countable success with their own pinpoint attacks.

A typical cup match developed from the start of the second half. "We tried not to fall into a kick and rush game, but to recognize the right moments for a targeted offensive game," said Oebel-Noack. This was to pay off in the 74th minute of the game. Rsol Rsol was able to pick up a low pass through the opposing defense at pace, rounded the opposing goalkeeper, and slotted home the much-celebrated winning goal. In the final phase, Irlich threw everything forward again, but the young footballers were able to stop these offensive efforts with their last bit of energy. Only a free kick from 25 meters caused a bit of a scare, but goalkeeper Leo Argendorf masterfully defused the ball.

Congratulations to the B II team, which has been completely reconfigured both on and off the pitch compared to last season.

We would like to thank TSG Irlich for allowing the match to take place on their field, as we did not have a playing surface available yesterday.
