The three teams of our E-juniors already played their first matchday of the second half of the season on Friday. For the E I team, as second in the standings, it was a top match against league leaders Grafschafter JSG. On the hard court in Bengen, the boys coached by Gerd Treffer and Bella Angelova started with great momentum and deservedly took the lead through two goals from Orestis Kasa (5') and Olsi Zogaj (16'). The rematch for the first leg defeat seemed to have begun. The yellow-blacks needed time to settle into the game. A header goal to make it 2-1 in the 19th minute roused the favored Grafschafters. From then on, they became the dominant team and managed to completely turn the game around with two goals (28', 35') to take a 2-3 lead. The visitors' superiority continued until the final whistle, yet the young ABC players managed to secure a lucky point with a long-range shot from Oskar Glasner to make it 3-3 (44'). With 13 points from six games and a three-point lead over SGL Heimersheim, the E-juniors will start after the autumn holidays with an away game against fourth-placed SV Berg/Freisheim (7 points).
A top-of-the-table clash also for the E II Juniors, pitting first against second. In plain terms, Ahrweiler BC II against Grafschafter JSG III. However, the summit climbers of the county town's juniors did not allow a close match between the top two teams from the start. After a 4-2 lead at halftime, Head Coach Thomas Lorenz's protégés stepped it up a notch and won very clearly with a score of 9-2. The goals for their fifth win of the season in their fifth league game were distributed as follows: Cihan Dalmus (4), Moritz Heckenbach (2), Tom Hildebrandt, Ben Doktor, and Luis Klasen. After a very successful first half of the season, the E II juniors head into the fall break with 15 points and a goal difference of 61:8. "The team has developed wonderfully and has made a great leap from the F to the E juniors," said Youth Director Gerd Treffer.
The third team was also active on the first matchday of the second half of the season and lost 8-5 (4-4) at league leaders JSG Remagen II. The team coached by Simon Grüninger, whose squad is repeatedly reinforced with players from the E I and E II juniors to gain match practice, even led 1-4 until the 22nd minute, but ultimately had to concede defeat to the hosts' strong and powerful counter-attacking play. "We generally did a good job against a strong opponent," said Grüninger about his team's performance. The young players from the district capital repeatedly created danger, especially on the wings. According to Grüninger, Ibrahim Sabotic, Julian Bundkirchen, and Anton Appl stood out from a team that performed as a cohesive unit. With 6 points, the boys will start the remaining games of the autumn round on November 2nd. Their opponent will then be SG Westum III.
