D and E Juniors Take the Top of the Podium
Andreas Küpper and Moritz Feigk's D-Juniors completely masterfully won the Hall District Championship title on Sunday in Andernach. With four wins and one draw, the young ABC players deservedly finished the final round as winners and, in addition to winning the title, have also qualified for the state tournament next weekend in Montabaur. The teams of JSG Brohl and TuS Hausen followed in second and third place on the podium. After the preliminary and final rounds, the team had nine wins, one draw, and a goal difference of 32:0.
The final round of the E-juniors in Mayen, for which the junior kickers from the district capital qualified with all three teams, became a showdown between ABC and Grafschafter JSG, at the end of which the respective first teams decided the title in a penalty shootout. ABC keeper Luca Kramer saved the decisive ball, thus crowning the team's great performance, which showed six wins and two draws after eight preliminary and final round matches. In the semifinals, the two later finalists each prevailed against their respective second teams. The team of ABC coaches Gerd Treffer, Bella Angelova, and Marina Weidenbach narrowly won 2-1 in an exciting match against the E II juniors, who were younger in age. They finished the tournament in fourth place after a 1-2 loss in the "small final" against Grafschafter JSG. The E III juniors placed 5th in the overall standings.
