We are pleased to announce the next addition to the Ahrweiler BC coaching staff for the upcoming 2023/2024 season. Effective immediately, Oliver Johann Ewy, a native of Bonn, will take over as head coach of our U15 team in the Rheinlandliga. He will be supported by assistant coach Senad Sukic, who is active in the U23 team and most recently served as assistant coach for the U19 team.
Oliver Johann Ewy holds both a B license and a DFB goalkeeping coach license, and last season was responsible for the U19 team of SSV Bornheim in the Mittelrheinliga. There, he led the team, which seemed hopelessly behind at the beginning of the season, to promotion playoffs before they finally had to concede to Fortuna Bonn. Previously, he worked as a hub coach for the DFB's talent development program and was part of the coaching staff as a goalkeeping specialist for the U14 regional selection of the Mittelrhein Football Association under Mirko Schweikhard, who currently works at Mainz 05. He also gained experience at the Borussia Dortmund Fußballschule and in the youth performance center of Alemannia Aachen. The 31-year-old is characterized by his inspiring approach and possesses the ability to advance his protégés both mentally and technically. Ahrweiler's new U15 coach has great sporting ambitions for the team, but at the same time emphasizes: "Our focus is on the continuous development of the players."
For youth leader Gerd Treffer, Oliver Johann is therefore exactly the right coach for a team with a lot of potential and ambition.
Dear Oliver, on behalf of the entire ABC family, we warmly welcome you. We look forward to a successful collaboration and exciting football moments with the U15s.
