++U15 CELEBRATES FIRST SEASON VICTORY IN THE RHEINLANDLIGA++

Great joy for our U15 team. On Saturday, they achieved an outstanding victory in their third league game of the Rheinlandliga season. Although the visitors from SSV Heimbach-Weis had a few chances at the start, including hitting the woodwork, our team was unstoppable in the thrilling final phase of the first half.

As early as the 10th minute, the ball hit the crossbar after an opponent's attack, and defender Henry Schweigert cleared the follow-up shot off the line with a header – a potentially decisive game sequence. After that, our U15 found their rhythm and dominated the game until the final whistle, meaning SSV Heimbach-Weis rarely threatened our goal again. An exception was in the 29th minute, when the crossbar once again came to the aid of the district capital team. By that time, however, coach Oliver Johann-Ewy's protégés were already leading 2-0.

Luca Esper, our relentless captain, advanced into the penalty area on the right in the 18th minute, and Tim Dahm converted his pass for a 1-0 lead. In the 28th minute, David Lorca converted a penalty kick after a foul on Henry Feist to extend the lead to 2-0. Lorca scored again in the 35th minute with a direct shot from a similar distance after a corner kick by Alessandro Nyrenberg. And shortly before halftime, in the 2nd minute of stoppage time, Giulio Cristofalo capped off his sprint into the box with a shot into the corner to make it 4-0 at halftime.

Our goalkeeper Henry Ritzdorf dashed the visiting team's hopes of an early goal after the break with a strong save, and Tim Dahm capitalized on a multitude of scoring opportunities in the 56th minute to make it 5-0 – again with the assist from Luca Esper.

ABC coach Johann-Ewy praised the outstanding team performance: "A great team performance. Everyone could rely on the person next to them."

With one win, one draw, and one loss, the start to the season can be assessed as quite positive. The next matchday will take our team to second-placed Spvgg EGC Wirges.
