The third-place team in the Bezirksliga, Ahrweiler BC's U14, lived up to their favorite status on Saturday, winning 0-4 (0-3) on matchday 17 against the seventeenth-place team. A success the team secured early. By halftime, Fabian Lorca and Karl-Heinz Classen's team was already leading 0-3.
Tonis Xhafai opened the scoring for the young footballers from the Ahr Valley. His header from a corner kick by Gustaf Scharnbeck found the back of the net for VfR Koblenz in the 16th minute. And just a short time later, it was Erlis Hetemi who extended the lead to 0-2 (22nd minute) with a long-range shot. Hetemi has been in top form for weeks and scored his seventh goal since the winter break. Before the halftime whistle, the Lorca/Classen proteges secured the win against VFR Koblenz. Simon Gros scored after exactly half an hour, benefiting from an excellent through ball from Gustaf Scharnbeck.
In the second half, another goal followed. Mateusz Burgielski scored from a central position to make it 0-4 (58').
In their next match, they will face league leaders FC Cosmos Koblenz at their home field in Bad Neuenahr. The younger C-junior players from Ahrweiler BC are likely to face a much tougher challenge then. #YouthSoccer
