While many of you are still enjoying the summer and school holidays, the preparations for our U12 team are in full swing. The new 2024/2025 season in the Bezirksliga kicks off on September 1st with an exciting away match against TuS Koblenz II. But before that happens, everyone deserves some rest and vacation. The goal is to start the very intense months of the new season in top shape, well-rested, and hungry.
Head coach Thomas Lorenz's U12 team, supported by our new assistant coach Detlef Kleiss, team coordinator Michael Hildebrandt, and physio Gunnar Hoischen, has set high goals. After last season's thrilling match and eventual final victory in the district championship against JSG Nickenich, as well as the subsequent promotion playoff win, our boys are highly motivated to also deliver a strong performance in the district league.
"We see the next season as a big challenge and adventure," explains trainer Thomas Lorenz. "Our goal is to stay in the league, and we have prepared to stay the course throughout the entire season."
The team changed over the summer: we were able to welcome seven promising new additions. Two players come from last year's U12s, while five talented players have joined us from external clubs. "We now have 16 players and have been able to strengthen ourselves in the positions where we couldn't make equivalent substitutions recently," Lorenz continued.
Team cohesion and support from parents are also crucial factors in the upcoming season. Only together can we achieve our big goal and secure our league status. "Even though the Bezirksliga will be anything but a walk in the park, we are confident that our talented young players will continue to develop as well as they have so far and make the next leap in performance," emphasizes Lorenz.
