Last weekend, our U11 team, led by Andre Wenigmann, Darijo Matosevic, and Ralf Lauterbach, was in action twice at two tournaments. 🎉
On Saturday, we headed to the legendary Geißbock Cup at the grounds of 1. FC Köln. This tournament, which has enjoyed great popularity since 1982, was the highlight of the weekend. Our boys had the honor of competing against top teams like 1. FC Köln and VfL Bochum. With 48 teams, it was the largest tournament we have ever participated in. 💪 Despite tough competition, we secured 38th place – a respectable achievement in such a strong field of participants.🏅
On Sunday, the Vito Cup was on the schedule in Kripp. Our young footballers once again showed their fighting spirit. Although we narrowly missed the final round, it was a strong performance against the U13 girls from SG 99 Andernach, JSG Remagen, SV Eintracht Mendig3, and the eventual tournament winners, VfL Oberbieber. 🏆
In total, our U11 team played 13 games this weekend, with 5 wins and 8 losses. With a goal difference of 21–41, we gained valuable experience and rediscovered the joy of soccer after a six-week break from competition. 🥅⚽ Every child got the playing time they needed, and the coaching staff is proud of the boys’ development and dedication!
Let's go into the new season! We're ready for more challenges and are looking forward to exciting games🚀
