At the end of the second matchday of the D-Junioren District League, the U12 players’ heads were hanging low. Shortly before the final whistle, in the very last minute of the match against FC Plaidt, the younger U12 team of Ahrweiler BC conceded the decisive goal to trail 1-2 in the Plaidt stadium Pommerhof. The hosts not only had a successful finish, but also had the momentum on their side at the beginning of the match, taking a 1-0 lead in the 6th minute ⚽️. This early goal really put the ABC youngsters under pressure until halftime.
However, at the start of the second half, the U12 came into the game much more offensively and managed to equalize through Louis Kleis (37') with a shot from twelve meters 🔥. An exciting back-and-forth developed, with both teams playing for the win. "I felt like I had already secured the point," said team coordinator Michael Hildebrandt 🤞. But then came the bitter last minute, in which Plaidt scored the winning goal 😔. It was the second loss in the second game for the U12.
Nevertheless, Hildebrandt found positive words: "We took another step forward today and kept up well against the older year groups. Plaidt was a bit better and deserved the victory." 💪
This coming Sunday, we have a duel against JSG Westum, who also have two losses. An exciting game is therefore to be expected. ⚔️
