Often, it is these special moments that decide between victory and defeat – or even championship and promotion. Exactly such a moment occurred last Sunday in the district league duel of the 4th matchday between the U17 of Ahrweiler BC and JSG Hunsrück Mittelrhein. 
In the third minute of added time, the overall secure ABC goalkeeper Danylo Onyshchenko sealed the victory with a good save, securing the 1-0 win for the district capital's youth team.

Both teams had started the season with three clear wins each and gave nothing away. However, ABC generally had more possession and chances. "In the end, I saw my team as at least one goal better," commented U17 coach Fabian Lorca with satisfaction about the game. 
The match on the artificial turf in Bad Neuenahr was tough. Every inch was hotly contested, and both teams pushed themselves to their limits. The decisive goal came in the 58th minute: Linus Brämm was on hand after a corner kick and coolly found the back of the net! 
However, Brämm was not only outstanding as a goal scorer: For over 80 minutes, he engaged in thrilling duels as a center-back against Jan Kasemir, arguably the league's strongest striker. His performance impressed everyone at the ABC Bank.
In the end, however, it was a deserved success for the entire team, which has proven how much potential it has. 
After this first big challenge, the derby against SGL Heimersheim awaits on Friday. On paper it seems clear – but on the field it will surely be heated again.
