Our U11 team played a gripping match on Friday evening against JSG Nickenich, who are third in the league, but had to accept an 8:5 defeat. Despite many absences due to illness and only nine players arriving, the team coached by Andre Wenigmann, Ralf Lauterbach, and Darijo Matosevic showed a strong first half and went into the break with a 3:2 lead.
In the second half, Nickenich, however, turned up the heat: especially their striker Louis Schneider had an incredible day and scored all eight goals for his team's deserved victory. For our boys, Nelson Busch, Noah Willmann, Liam Wenigmann, and Moritz Winnen scored, in addition to an own goal by the hosts.
Despite the first loss of the current season, our U11 remains at the top of the table – tied on points with second-place JSG Remagen. On November 1st, Bad Neuenahr will face the potentially decisive duel of the two top teams as part of the next matchday.
