++MIXED RESULTS FOR ABC JUNIORS++
U14 wins, U12 and U15 show fighting spirit
U15 vs VfL Hamm 1:3 (0:1)
To kick off the intermediate round, the U15 team faced the previously undefeated group stage winner VfL Hamm and had to accept a 1-3 (0-1) defeat. However, similar to the preliminary round where the team led by head coach Oliver Johann Ewy lost 2-5 to Hamm, the ABC juniors were able to hold their own. On Saturday, they managed to keep the game open until the final stages. The decisive goal for the visitors to make it 1-3 was scored in the last minute of play. Albert Schmitz had scored the interim equalizer to make it 1-1 shortly after the second half began. The second intermediate round match against Mülheim-Kärlich is already scheduled for next Tuesday.
U14 vs JSG Mosel-Hunsrück 4:1 (2:1)
The U14 team lived up to its favorite role on the 10th matchday of the Bezirksliga. As has happened several times this season, the team of younger C-Juniors improved in the second half. At halftime, the team coached by Senad Sukic and Vahidin Cahtarevic led against guests JSG Mosel-Hunsrück 2-1, thanks to two goals from Raphael Saftig. In the second half, Leon Bertram and Joel Pullera extended the lead to 4-1 after clearly dominating the game. In terms of play, the U14 is currently the hottest prospect among the ABC junior teams. On Tuesday, it's on to the derby against the fifth-place team from Remagen – a duel on equal footing!
Spvgg Trier vs. U13 6–0 (3–0)
The hoped-for breakthrough for the U13 team in the Rheinlandliga unfortunately did not materialize. The team coached by Julian Hilberath suffered a clear 0-6 (0-3) defeat against fifth-placed SpVgg Trier. After a lightning start by the Mosel Valley team, they were already leading 2-0 after six minutes, which practically decided the game early on. With a seven-point deficit to a non-relegation spot, the last three preliminary round games are against teams from the lower half of the table – now the team finally needs to break the slump to avoid writing off the season prematurely.
JFV Rhein-Hunsrück II vs U12 3:0 (1:0)
The younger year of the D-Juniors, the U12s, also remains in the league cellar of the Bezirksliga (11th place). In the away game against the fifth-placed team, JFV Rhein-Hunsrück II, the team held their ground for a long time, but in the last ten minutes, the strong opponents extended their lead to 3:0 with two goals. Goalkeeper Jakub Sikkes, in particular, kept the team in the game with several brilliant saves. Next Saturday, they travel to the second-to-last team, SG Mülheim-Kärlich II. A win against this direct competitor is almost mandatory!
