Between Triumph and Frustration: U15 Wins Clearly, U12 Loses Decisively

Draws in the Rhineland League – U15 wins convincingly

U15 vs TuS Koblenz II 5:1 2:0

After a difficult start, the U15 team of Ahrweiler BC is back with a bang! In the intermediate round of the Rheinlandliga championship, the team coached by Oliver Johann Ewy and Timo Schäfer celebrated an impressive 5-1 (2-0) home victory against TuS Koblenz II. The match-winner was Dion Ademaj, who scored twice in the first half. After a brief resurgence from the visitors, Luke Huckriede, Tonis Xhafaj, and Benjamin Megow secured the clear final score. Now, the focus shifts forward: next weekend, the final intermediate round match against FC RW Koblenz awaits – the perfect moment to confirm their strong form.

Defensive Lapses – U14 loses in Metternich

FC Metternich vs U14 3:1 (0:0)

Without their regular defensive forces and with an unfortunate turn of events, the ABC U14 team suffered a 1-3 defeat against FC Metternich. Thanks in part to solid performances from Joah Poweleit and Marlon Beideck, who made their starting eleven debuts in central defense, the first half remained scoreless. After the break, the team tried to build pressure with short passing and one-on-one duels, but a lack of space hampered their offense. Metternich, on the other hand, utilized targeted long balls and pulled ahead to a 3-0 lead. Leon Bertram scored a consolation goal shortly before the end. With 17 points, the team remains in sixth place in the standings – an opportunity for redemption awaits in the derby against JSG Westum.

Lost and clueless – U13 still in the relegation battle

U13 vs JFV Wittlicher Tal 0:0 (0:0)

The U13 team of ABC is stuck at the bottom of the Rheinlandliga standings. In the last match of the first half of the season, the young ABC players drew 0-0 against the Wittlicher Tal youth development association. Despite dominating play and having a clear advantage in possession, coach Julian Hilberath's team once again failed to convert their few chances. The highlight of the match was a penalty in the 54th minute – but the opposing goalkeeper made a strong save. With only five points from 13 games, the pressure remains high: eight points separate ABC from the non-relegation spots. A win is needed in the last two matches before the winter break against direct competitors to avoid further worsening the situation.

Bitter blow for U12 – lost relegation match

SG Mülheim-Kärlich II vs U12 5:1 (2:0)

A harsh setback for the U12 team of ABC: They suffered a clear 1:5 defeat in the basement battle against SG Mülheim-Kärlich II. The team coached by Thomas Lorenz fell behind in the second minute. Hope flickered briefly after the break when Carlos Hanna scored to make it 1:2, but the euphoria was short-lived. Two minutes later, the score became 1:3 – and the resistance of the young ABC players was broken. "We lacked the final percentages in all areas," analyzed team coordinator Michael Hildebrandt. Now, the undefeated league leaders TuS Koblenz II await – a game in which the U12 team has nothing to lose.
