Sensation in Bitburg: Ahrweiler U19 triumphs over the second-placed team

JFV Bitburg vs U19 3:4 (0:1)

The U19 team of Ahrweiler BC caused a real surprise on the 14th day of the A-Junioren-Rheinlandliga: The team of Timo Uhlendahl and Daniel Debus celebrated a dramatic 4-3 away victory against the second-placed JFV Bitburg. After a narrow 1-0 lead for the hosts at halftime, Ahrweiler turned things around in the second half. Max Isgaem equalized in the 49th minute, and Mika Eisenzapf put the young academy players ahead 2-1 (64'). Bitburg promptly responded (68'), but Eisenzapf (80') again fueled the hope of a surprise victory. Despite a time penalty (86') and the 3-3 equalizer by the hosts (89'), the Kreisstadt-based team held its nerve: In stoppage time, Isgaem – still on the bench – scored the winning goal. In doing so, the U19 team impressively proved that despite their position in the table, they have a lot of potential.

Ahrweiler BC's U17 team bows out after its fourth defeat of the season

U17 vs FC Plaidt 0:2 (0:1)

The downward trend of the Ahrweiler BC U17 continues. In the home game against FC Plaidt, head coach Fabian Lorca's team conceded 0:2 (0:1) in the 13th round of the Bezirksliga Mitte. The fourth season defeat dropped the ABC youth team to sixth place in the table. The Achilles heel of the team was once again revealed: too many easy goals, which are due to individual and collective errors. Therefore, intensive work is planned for the winter break – on and off the pitch. But first, the first round match awaits: next Saturday, the ABC hosts JSG Mastershausen at the central field in Bad Neuenahr (kick-off: 16:00).
