With a successful blend of soccer and community spirit, the U14 team of Ahrweiler BC bid farewell to their league season in the Bezirksliga. After their final match against JSG Mosel-Hunsrück last Saturday – a hard-fought game that was narrowly lost – the young footballers used the day to celebrate the end of the season in a very special way.
The team, which can proudly look back on a successful first half of the season and a solid fifth place in the standings, traveled to Cologne by train. The destination: the DEL match between Kölner EC and the Schwenninger Wild Wings. Even the "Sharks'" loss, which also ended with a two-goal deficit, couldn't spoil the mood of the young footballers from the Ahr Valley.
After an exciting afternoon at the ice hockey stadium, they continued to Vapiano. Here, the young talents refueled with pizza and pasta and ended the day in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
A successful conclusion for a team that impresses not only on but also off the field. With their strong first half of the season and fifth place in the standings, the U14 team of Ahrweiler BC heads into the winter break motivated and is already looking forward to the challenges of the second half of the season.
