Two test matches took place in our youth department on Saturday. In the U14 match, the team of Senad Sukic and Vahidin Cahtarevic played against JSG Unterahr and secured a 4-0 victory. In the first half, goalkeeper Philipp Sahl ensured a narrow lead by saving a penalty and the subsequent rebound – after Jonas Printzen had given them a 1-0 lead. After the break, the squad, composed of younger C-Juniors, took over the game, with Leon Bertram (pictured) sealing the final score with a hat-trick. This was a pure test run, which showed that positive results can be achieved with focused effort.
The U17s' test match started a bit bumpy. In an away match against the Sonderliga team SSV Weilerswist, the team led narrowly 0-1 after 40 minutes. After the break, Fabian Lorca, Karl Heinz Classen, and Uwe Deutsch's team increased the tempo and worked their way to a clear 6-0 victory. The goals were scored by Elias Ensafi (2), Linus Brämm, Alexander Braun, Gulio Cristofalo, and Kim Bures. Here too, preparation and coordination were in the foreground, without setting high expectations for the final results.
