Goalkeeper talent Philip Schmidgen remains a reliable support at Ahrweiler BC

Philip Schmidgen, the current U19 goalkeeper and currently the second string keeper for Ahrweiler BC's first team, will be permanently promoted to the U23 squad for the upcoming 2025/2026 season. The 19-year-old most recently stood between the posts during the convincing 5-0 victory against TuS Kirchberg and was already able to gain valuable experience with the U23 team during the first half of the season.

Together with Hakan Bakir, Schmidgen will ensure additional quality in the goalkeeper position in the future. Sporting director Aldin Sukic is convinced of Schmidgen's potential: "Philip has continuously developed with us. We trust him to take the next steps and will support him in the best possible way."

Since his transfer in the summer of 2018 from JSG Bad Breisig to the D-Juniors of Ahrweiler BC, Schmidgen has proven to be a strong backbone in all youth teams. "I am looking forward to the challenge and want to continue working hard to recommend myself for higher tasks," said Schmidgen.
