What a great day for Ahrweiler BC at the Konrad-Zuse Cup in Kripp. Our U17s represented the club exceptionally on Saturday and demonstrated their skills with three teams.
Our first team in particular deserves special mention; in an exciting final, they managed to prevail with a convincing 2-1 victory over JSG Remagen II by taking penalty kicks. The hero of the final was our goalkeeper Henri Steege, who contributed significantly to the victory with two saved penalties.
But the second team from the district town also delivered a strong performance and secured an excellent 3rd place. They only had to concede to our own first team in the semi-finals – a testament to the strong internal competition and the high level of our youth development work.
Our third team, ABC III, also showed full commitment and finished in a respectable 11th place among a total of 14 participants.
We are incredibly proud of all our young players for this great performance and the passion shown on the pitch. Congratulations to all the players and coaches on this successful day.
