The U23 team of Ahrweiler BC defeated SV Kripp 5-1 (1-0) in their first official test match on Saturday. Luca Galdino (pictured) (24') scored the opening goal after a pass from Benjamin Ibrahimovic. Kripp hit the crossbar, Finn Götte missed a penalty, and was denied by Kripp's goalkeeper Marc Viehfeger.
At the start of the second half, ABC keeper Hakan Bakir also proved to be a penalty killer. Chadi Atwi extended the lead with a brace (74', 76') after a corner kick and a fine assist – with both goals set up by Muris Susa and Ibrahim Sleei. Elvedin Hamza (78') scored with a header after a rebound, and Aron Seck (85') scored after a solo run. Kripp reduced the deficit with a penalty converted by Geronimo Klapperich in the final minute. Dire U23 showed a joyful playing style and a stable defense, confirming their successful 5-0 start in the internal training match against the U19. The next test will be on Friday in Gönnersdorf as a mixed team with players from the first team. The opponent will be TuS Oberwinter.
