With a convincing 7-0 victory over the Grafschafter SG, the Ahrweiler BC U23 secured third place on Thursday evening at the BMW Baum-Automobile Cup in Leimersdorf. Facing the lower-class B-League team, the Rheinlandliga reserve team from the Kreisstadt struggled to make any impression from the beginning, but struggled to capitalize on their advantage in the first half – only one goal was scored before the halftime whistle.
However, after the halftime break, Ricardo Ribeiro’s team took control of the game and crushed their opponent with half a dozen goals. The three-goal haul by Adlin Dervishi, the double-goal scorers Elvedin Hamza and Aron Seck – they made the difference in the result.
A deserved victory in every respect for the team of U23 head coach Ricardo Ribeiro, who, with the success behind them, go into the upcoming district cup match against TuS Mayen – again against a B-League team.
