RADIATION, POSITION ERRORS AND SCH…TAG
U17 | JSG Vulkaneifel Kottenheim – Ahrweiler BC 4:1 (2:1)
The U17 team of Ahrweiler BC started the new Bezirksliga season with a defeat. In the away game in Kottenheim, the team of head coach Joe Yankey and his assistants Fabian Lorca, Karl-Heinz Classen and Jürgen Deutsch lost 1:4 to the JSG Vulkaneifel.
The match initially started promisingly. As early as the 7th minute, Alexander Braun scored the opener for 0-1 after a consistent press. However, the hosts equalized immediately after the kickoff to make it 1-1, and then capitalised on their chances consistently. After a corner, Kottenheim took the lead 2-1 before halftime (29th minute).
Shortly after the restart, the JSG increased their lead to 3-1 (47) after a mistake in the defense. Just two minutes later, a “beam” from over 25 meters gave the hosts their fourth goal. Although the Ahrweiler team managed to prevent further goals, this did not change the outcome of the match.
“It was a…day,” commented Fabian Lorca after the match. Now it is time to quickly get over the defeat and focus on the next game. Next weekend, the U17 team will host JSG Ahrtal on their home artificial turf in Bachem; the team lost their opening match against JSG Hunsrück-Mittelrhein 2-3.
