7:0 Victory: ABC Marches On

Ahrweiler BC remains the benchmark in the Rheinlandliga. Against bottom-placed SV Arzdorf, the league leaders left no doubt about their dominance with a 7-0 (4-0) victory, celebrating their seventh win in their seventh match in front of 258 spectators.

The hosts, well-prepared for the supposedly easy match by coaching duo Mike Wunderlich and Kevin Pires-Rodrigues, appeared highly focused from the start. Arzdorf – who recently achieved a respectable result against Schneifel – had their hands full defensively and could only contain the ABC offensive drive in the initial phase. After two impressive long-range goals from Almir Porca (20th minute) and Roman Voloshchuk (24th minute / symbolic photo) and a goal by Thomas Idel (27th minute), the match was decided early. Nam-Jun Lee scored the 4-0 shortly before halftime (43rd minute).

Ahrweiler continued to dominate in the second half. Porca, now with nine goals this season, added two more (58th, 71st), before Boris Schirmer scored the final goal in stoppage time (90+2). The ABC controlled the ball and their opponents almost at will and confidently started their busy week with a resounding victory.

The Ahrweiler BC coaching duo: "We knew that we were primarily challenged mentally today. The lads handled it professionally – that's exactly how you have to approach games like this."

The next match is already on Wednesday at FV Rübenach, before the away match at SG Schneifel on Saturday.
