In the second test match of the year, our U17s visited the Bonn special group team SV Hertha Buschhoven on Saturday afternoon. With more pleasant temperatures than the last time, the team of Aldin Sukic and Wolfgang Gies won 1-3 (1-2) and had to do without Simon Grüninger, Luca Marx, Caspar Sebastian Erin Xhemshiti and Felix Zepp for various reasons, leaving the team from the Ahrtal with a total of 13 players on the artificial turf in Buschhoven.
The young players from the district town dominated the first 20 minutes clearly and often created good scoring opportunities through the enormously enthusiastic Yassin Boutziri. Boutziri was also the one who scored the first goal in the 18th minute with 0-1 in front. The hosts were then better in the game and took advantage of one of their scoring chances to equalize 1-1 (30’). Ümit Kuzu added the second goal for Faruk Tunc after 38 minutes, who scored the 1-2 goal.
In the second half, when Winter signing Jan Schneider also made his very impressive debut in the ABC jersey, the game mostly went in the direction of the Buschhoven goal. Jonas Adams scored on a volley by Gabriel Wüst to make it 1-3 (65’); a more convincing victory would have been possible, but the last ball in front of or behind the line often arrived too late or not at all.
After the match, Wolfgang Gies spoke of an "overall decent performance". The next test match is next Friday, with a away game against the senior B-league team TuS Oberwinter II.
