ABC III SECURES TRIO OF GOALS FOR AWAY WIN

On the now almost unfamiliar and unloved surface of an artificial turf pitch, the footballers of Ahrweiler BC III, who are currently training and playing in Remagen, won 3-0 (1-0) against FC Niederlützingen on Friday evening.

For head coach Mohamed Abou-Ayda, the game plan before the match between the sixth-placed team from the district capital and the eleventh-placed hosts was clear: "It will be very difficult in Niederlützingen. The basics are what's needed there. Win tackles and play uncomplicated football," said Mohamed Abou-Ayda before the game. Even though his protégés struggled in the opening quarter of an hour against the deep-sitting hosts, the team with the greater playing ability ultimately prevailed. ABC III was well into the game after 20 minutes and was able to take a deserved 0-1 lead through Almedin Ljaljic before halftime.

Further chances followed in the second half, two of which Ljaljic converted, securing the ultimately undisputed 0-3 away victory. The A-youth player currently has 14 goals this season. "That was a hard-fought victory. The boys had to show a different side of themselves today and, with a lot of fight and effort, they earned a 'dirty win'," explained Mohamed Abou-Ayda after the match. In addition to match-winner Almedin Ljaljic, defensive player Kilian Görgen received special praise: "Kilian wasn't just strong today and one of the top performers; he has consistently delivered excellent performances since the test matches during the winter break and has become indispensable to the team as a pillar of the defense."

This success has provisionally moved the team up to fifth place in the table. Next Friday, the SC Wassenach will be expected on the familiar home turf of the Remagen artificial turf, whom they recently beat 6-0 away just a week ago.
