Ahrweiler BC has completed its squad planning for the upcoming season. Experienced attacking midfielder Boris Schirmer is moving from SC Rheinbach to the district town. "With this, we have completed our transfer activities," says sporting director Jonny Susa after the 33-year-old's commitment.
Schirmer's younger brother Tim had previously moved from Rheinbach to ABC. That Boris is now also finding his way to the Ahr Valley, Susa sees as a happy coincidence: "That Boris wanted to make another sporting change in the autumn of his career is a stroke of luck for ABC."
Schirmer, known in football circles as "Bo," went through the youth academy of FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf and has had nearly 300 appearances in the Landesliga in recent years. His winning mentality, leadership qualities, and commitment are expected to help coach Jonny Susa's team, as will his technical finesse with both feet. "Boris is not satisfied yet by any means and is eager for the new challenge," said Susa.
Schirmer himself looks forward to his new station: "ABC has made a name for itself with its playing style and has a lot of quality in its squad. I want to settle in quickly here and contribute to the team celebrating the greatest possible success next season."
Ahrweiler BC warmly welcomes Boris Schirmer and wishes him a successful and injury-free time in the Ahr Valley.
