Lights off – spotlight on. The older generation will remember. Ilja Richter's DISCO every Saturday evening at 7:30 PM on ZDF. On Wednesday evening, after a break of over four months due to Corona, the spotlights on the Ahrweiler BC training ground were also turned on for the first time. The first team had the honor of being the first of all teams to return to the long-awaited practice match operations. Much seemed to be the same. For example, Finn Götte's green (!!) socks. But in the end, returning to the field and playing with the ball was more or less a new experience. The joy was palpable among the players. Even though, considering the current official regulations, such as the requirement to act without contact, the once familiar normality still seems far off, a start has been made.
"We assume that the season will continue and must be prepared accordingly," explains the head of the seniors department, Gianfranco Di Francesco, adding: "The coaches will gradually increase the scope and intensity of training so that we are ready for Day X." Starting tomorrow, Thursday, the remaining senior teams and youth teams of the ABC will also join the training sessions.
