U15 suffers a clear defeat – U14 gets derby point
SG Mühlheim-Kärlich vs U15 5:0 (2:0)
In the English week of the intermediate round in the C Juniors-Rheinlandliga, the U15 team of Ahrweiler BC had to accept a clear 0:5 (0:2) defeat on Tuesday evening away to SG Mülheim-Kärlich. The hosts took the lead in the first minute and rarely allowed the ABC boys to develop their play. Goalkeeper Philipp Sahl, on loan from the U14s, prevented worse with some strong saves. After the 1:3 from the first match day last weekend against VfL Hamm, the ABC juniors have a home game against TuS Koblenz II on Saturday.
JSG Remagen vs U14 3:3 (1:1)
The U14 team of ABC played away against JSG Remagen on Tuesday evening in a district league derby, an exciting duel between the fifth and sixth-placed teams. The hosts started both halves with a lot of pressure, but ABC managed to break free with their play and took a 0-1 lead through Leon Bertram. Before halftime, Remagen equalized after a corner. In the second half, ABC took the lead again: Bertram and Noah Richter increased it to 1-3. However, Remagen stayed in the game, reducing the deficit to 2-3 from a penalty, and equalizing to 3-3 after an unfortunate own goal by ABC. Both teams had chances to win in the closing stages, but in the end, it was a draw that reflected the effort of both sides. On Saturday, ABC faces an even tougher task against FC Metternich II, the second-placed team.
