++U19 BOYS: BITTER 2-3 LOSS AFTER 2-0 LEAD++

The B II juniors didn't play a bad game on Saturday in their district league match. Form and determination were present. However, in the end, the team had to concede a 2-3 (2-0) loss to the guests from TSV Emmelshausen due to a goal scored shortly before the end of the game, even though the young ABClers were still leading 2-0 at halftime.

A late goal sealed the defeat against TSV Emmelshausen. Everything started so well. Strengthened by some regular players from the B I-Juniors, the town's youth team played a good game in the first half and deservedly led 2-0 at halftime. Jonas Adams scored the 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute from 15 meters on the right side. In the 39th minute, keeper Fabian Blaszkow made a brilliant save to deny the equalizer and simultaneously initiated the second goal with his long punt. Dean Travljazin slotted the ball past the opposing goalkeeper for the 2-0 halftime score.

However, Emmelshausen showed their determination to make a comeback at the start of the second 45 minutes, and after a solid hour, the current third-place team had equalized the deficit. The 2-1 (60') came from a direct shot after a left-flank cross, and for the second goal, the ABC's 2-0 seemed to be repeated – this time on the visitors' side. After a goalkeeper's punt, an Emmelshausen player was on hand and pushed the round vinyl over the line for the 2-2 (62'). A balanced game followed, with the better ending for the visiting team. In the 77th minute, a touch of Wembley 1966 and Geoffrey Hurst wafted across the Bengen sports field. A shot from the visitors landed on the underside of the crossbar and from there behind the goal line, unlike the World Cup final between England and Germany. A defeat that must be attributed to themselves, but also came about due to the good morale and the skill of the opponent. Due to this loss, the team, now second to last, is already four points behind the safe zone. Next weekend, they travel to face fourth-place JSG Eifelhöhe-Ulmen.
