This past Sunday, the D III juniors coached by Alexander Blauhut and Goran Strk faced league leaders Grafschafter JSG in Bad Breisig for the 6th matchday of the Kreisklasse. Unlike in the first leg, where the ABC youth clearly lost 0-4, Blauhut/Strk's protégés managed to challenge the favorites this time. Despite a narrow 1-3 (1-1) defeat, the Kreisstadt kickers left a good overall impression.
Paul Dederich (5') gave his team an early 1-0 lead. Until halftime, both teams had a variety of half-chances, but only one more goal was scored before the break. The combined team equalized in the 17th minute to make it 1-1.
In the second half, the visitors from the county proved very dangerous in front of goal and turned the game around with two more goals. Overall, ABC was able to keep up reasonably well, but failed to convert the scoring opportunities that arose, especially in some transition situations. Otherwise, there was not much room for negative tactical criticism for Blauhut/Strk. The team delivered a very decent performance and was able to keep up with the favored visitors, who deservedly won the match in the end. So, the mantra remains "keep up the good work," preferably as early as next Saturday in the away game against JSG Unterahr II in Bad Bodendorf.
