The D III juniors of Ahrweiler BC ended their season with an exciting, but also disappointing turn of events. Even before the last matchday of the Kreisklasse, the team led by Moritz and Christopher Feigk was at the top of the table. However, after the final whistle against JSG Unterahr, the young ABC footballers ultimately had to settle for third place.
Disappointment in the decisive game
The decisive match against JSG Unterahr ended with a 0-3 loss (0-1). As early as the 5th minute, the team missed a great chance to take the lead by failing to convert a penalty. Throughout the entire match, the guests from Sinzig and Bad Bodendorf showed the better performance and deservedly left the field as the winners.
WINNER TUS MAYEN
TuS Mayen ultimately secured the league title, having held the top spot for almost the entire season. However, this is no reason for the Ahrweiler BC coaches to hang their heads: "As a third team, we've earned 12 points from 6 games. That's certainly something to be proud of," stated the positive summary.
CELEBRATORY SEASON FINALE
Restaurant owner Toni Krasniqi ensured a reconciliation. He invited the entire team to a fitting season-ending event at "Toni's Ahr la Carte" at Mittelstraße 14 in Bad Neuenahr. A nice conclusion to an eventful season.
CONCLUSION:
Despite the disappointment on the final match day, the D III juniors of Ahrweiler BC look back on a successful season – and are already looking forward to new challenges.
