In the intermediate round of the indoor district championship last weekend in Mayen, two teams from Ahrweiler BC took the opportunity to qualify for the final round next weekend.
ABC I (Photo), a mix of ages, secured first and second place together with the strong competition from TuS Hausen. In addition to four wins each, the direct duel ended in a goalless draw.
The 2nd team, composed of players from the U13 Rheinlandliga team, left no doubt in the intermediate round, as they had already done in the preliminary round, that they would not miss out on qualifying for the finals. Only in the 0-0 draw against fellow qualifier JSG Vulkaneifel Mendig did the team led by head coach Felipe have to settle for a draw. The team thus starts the round of the remaining six teams with a record of nine wins and one draw so far, with a goal difference of 53:0.
The ABC III narrowly failed to win. The team only managed to secure 3rd place, finishing behind their own 2nd team and Vulkaneifel Mendig. Nevertheless, the team, which consists exclusively of players from the younger age group, left an excellent impression in the preliminary and intermediate rounds.
