Our D1 team makes a statement and celebrated a 2-0 victory against JFV Wolfstein WW/Sieg – their first win in the Verbandsliga in 2025.
From the start, our team took control of the game, but initially struggled to create clear scoring chances. The hosts settled into the match better, but our defense held firm and allowed very little.
In the 20th minute, the breakthrough came: Philip von Sanden shot from a distance, the opposing goalkeeper could only parry the ball forward – Saifadin Abdul Kader reacted lightning-fast and tapped it in for the 1-0! ⚽
After the break, Wolfstein increased the pressure and pushed for an equalizer, but our defense, with goalkeeper Kian Backenecker at the helm, held firm. Offensively, it remained a dangerous long-range shot from Levi Figura for a long time, until the decisive moment came three minutes before the end: After a quick transition play, Lasse Claesgens delivered a perfect cross into the box – Ioan Suru was there and coolly scored the final 2-0 goal! ⚽⚽💥
A deserved victory thanks to a strong team performance – and the perfect dress rehearsal for Wednesday's cup match at JSG Rieden. Three days later, we'll be heading to Trier with momentum. Keep it up, boys!
