++ WE ARE THE STAR - D I MARCHES ON UNITED ++

The D-Juniors of Ahrweiler BC remain on course for success in the Central District League. With a commanding 4:1 away win at JSG Loreleyblick Damscheid, the Red & Whites consolidated their top position and once again impressed with a mature, cohesive team performance.

ABC controlled the game from the outset and put their opponents under pressure early on. They deservedly took the lead in the 14th minute: Yassin El Toufaili converted a sharp cross from Marek Schunk to make it 0:1. Ahrweiler continued to dominate the game after that, but failed to extend their lead before the break. With plenty of possession, calm build-up play and a stable defense, the team went into half-time with a narrow but deserved lead.

After the break, the league leaders stepped up the pace considerably. In the 33rd minute, Marek Schunk himself was on hand to score after an energetic effort to make it 0:2. In the 50th minute, Yassin El Toufaili added another goal and made it 0:3 with his second goal - the preliminary decision. Damscheid scored the equalizer in the 59th minute after a quick counterattack, but ABC responded immediately: In stoppage time (60th + 2), the strong Max Lichtenthäler scored with a well-placed shot to make the final score 1:4.

On the sidelines this time were assistant coaches Kleiss and Lorenz, who deputized for coach Danni Werner, who was ill. Both were highly satisfied after the final whistle:

"That was a very focused performance today. We hardly conceded anything defensively, closed the spaces cleverly and were efficient up front. A deserved win on a difficult pitch."

Special thanks go to the parents who travel with us week after week, providing support and showing a great deal of patience - this time even covering almost 100 kilometers one way. All of them are repeat offenders and their positive energy created a real team spirit off the pitch too. In this squad, the following applies more than ever: the star of the team is the WE.

With this success, Ahrweiler BC remains unbeaten at the top of the Central District League table. A cohesive team performance, tactical maturity and solidarity currently make the D-juniors a real figurehead for the club.
