Shortened football holiday program was well received
Last Saturday, the final of a total of four FIEGE football holiday camps of the Ahrweiler BC ended during the still ongoing summer holidays. A total of 160 football-crazy children between the ages of six and 14 participated in this popular event. Unlike last year’s events, when the camps lasted over a period of five days each, this time, to meet the requirements of the coronavirus situation, three days were used each time to offer the kids not only age-appropriate football training but also plenty of fun and joy.
Katharina Sternitzke, who has been responsible for the implementation of the FIEGE Football Holiday Camp for many years, was very satisfied with the new format of the “FFFF”: “It worked great and will continue to be a model that can be used for implementation.” Also, the former Bundesliga player points out that without the involvement of motivated coaches, it would not have been possible to properly care for the children. In this sense, a big thank you goes to Luca Köhler, Yahya Nassir, Tom Sebastian, Clemens Klaus, Tim Linden, Julian Pelikan, Julian Hilberath, Sam Schüring, Léa Daiz, Maximilian Münch, Faruk Tunc. “I think it’s great that more and more ABC youth players are doing a really good job and at the same time are tackling a task as a coach,” Sternitzke said about the many youth coaches. Currently, six young ABC players were serving as coaches.
The FIEGE Football Holiday Camp is also planned for the autumn holidays. Information about it will be announced in a timely manner via the social media channels of the ABC and the city newspaper Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler of the Linus Wittich Verlag.
The Ahrweiler BC would like to thank Ristorante Pizzeria Sale e Pepe and Ristorante Pizzeria Roma from the twin city, who once again supported the Ahrweiler BC during the FIEGE Football Holiday Camp with child-friendly and delicious food, thus contributing significantly to the success of the event.
