Interesting zero score between Ahrweiler BC III and Eintracht Esch

The Kreisliga C match between Ahrweiler BC III and the newly promoted Eintracht Esch ended goalless on Monday evening. Overall, it was a rather interesting 0-0 draw from a playing perspective, with a highly dramatic exchange in the final minutes of the game.

The guests, who had to do without their superstar and 42-time season goal scorer Enrico Dresen, started furiously. Alexander Zavelberg, who once played successfully in the A-Junioren Rheinlandliga under 1990 World Cup winner Jürgen Kohler, had a chance to take the lead after just three minutes. However, ABC goalkeeper Yannick Waupke saved his shot. The hosts' best chance came from Fabrice Vangu, whose header from six meters narrowly missed the target. Otherwise, the first half offered more intensity than exclusivity.

Even in the first 35 minutes of the second half, during which the third team from the district capital appeared visually superior, clear-cut chances remained scarce. The exception was in the 55th minute, when ABC goal scorer Almedin Ljaljic, after a pass from Bilal Elgergawy, hit the crossbar of the goal defended by David Volz with a direct shot. In the last ten minutes of the game, the match became really lively again. Both the team coached by Mohamed and Ualied Abou-Ayda, and the team of guest coach Roland Evertz, were looking for the deciding goal – the famous lucky punch. First, Paolo Di Paola (89') narrowly missed the ball after a sharp cross from Beson Bytygi, and in added time, the ball hit the post after a corner kick from Esch. Thus, it ended in a final 0-0 draw – a result that both teams can live with.

The "Thirds" will continue next Sunday with an away game against SV Leimersdorf. The match will kick off at 3:00 PM on the artificial turf in Berkum.
