Our U19 gave their all on the 26th matchday of the Rheinlandliga – and they mean that literally. After a strong start and taking the lead through Max Isgaem in the first 20 minutes, a major storm hit: lightning, thunder, heavy rain – the game was interrupted for 20 minutes. But we weren't deterred by the rain. 💪🌧️ After the weather break, Cristiano Schulze put us back in the lead. Unfortunately, Mülheim-Kärlich kept equalizing, and we went into halftime tied.
Unfortunately, things didn't go smoothly in the second half. Mistakes were punished, and the opponents pushed ahead. However, Bartek Metza brought hope back with his goal, making it 4-3. In the end, we had to concede defeat with a score of 7-3 – but chin up, boys!
The ABC's oldest youth team remains in 9th place. Redemption is needed for the coming weekend. On Saturday, the U19 team will host the fourteenth-placed JSG Kannenbäcker Höhr-Grenzhausen.
