COMEBACK TURNED AROUND - ABC III WITH A 3-1 AWAY WIN TO START THE SEASON

The "Thirds" have had an excellent start to the new Kreisliga C season. Head coach Mohamed Abou-Ayda's team, who was represented by his brother Ualied Abou-Ayda at the start of the league due to vacation, prevailed 1-3 (1-2) at SV Kripp after a solid and serious performance. Adnan Gerguri (12'), Benedikt Ferber (30'), and Alexander Dick (71') scored the goals for a perfect start for last year's league fifth-place finisher.

The visitors from the district capital put pressure on at the start of the match and created danger in front of the goal of the Kripp Kreisliga B reserve team with numerous long balls. In the middle of a strong phase for the ABC team, the hosts scored the first highlight of the match with a successful counter-attack. Jan Herrscher gave his team the lead in the twelfth minute. However, the joy of SVK coach Ferdinand Koch's team was short-lived. Already in the 15th minute of play, new signing Adnan Gerguri took advantage of a low pass from Tobias Gemein from a central position to equalize at 1-1. And it got even better for the Ahrweiler third team. After an attack down the left flank and a one-two with Bilal Elgergawy, Benedikt Ferber slotted the ball into the far corner for a 1-2 lead (30'). Kripp II only found their way back into the game in the final phase of the first half, but ABC goalkeeper Joshua Köhler saved the biggest chance to equalize shortly before the halftime whistle with a strong save.

Unlike in the first 45 minutes, the "Doppelstädter" were no longer as convincing in their play after the break. The hosts were pressing, but lacked the necessary finishing power. Only a header from a corner kick, which narrowly missed its target, created significant danger in front of ABC III's goal. A set piece was to decide this overall good Kreisliga C match. Alexander Dick curved the ball from 20 meters around the wall to make it 1-3 (71st minute). The visitors knew from then on how to defend their lead professionally and could celebrate a perfect start to the season after the final whistle – also the first league victory for an ABC senior team in the current season. This can be topped with a home win against SG Ahrtal II next Friday.
