The U13 team of Ahrweiler BC, the oldest age group of the D-juniors, is facing an exciting and ambitious season in the Rheinlandliga. After securing their league status early last season by qualifying for the championship round, the team has set high goals for the new season. Despite several coaching changes last season, the team, which has been playing together in its core formation since they were E-juniors, has not lost its willpower or performance.
Coach Jankin Hasan, who led the U13s to a respectable sixth place in the final stretch of last season, has a clear vision for this season as well: "Our goal is to make an impact in this difficult league. We are not just a participating team, but a team with goals, principles, and values."
Talent and team spirit as success factors 🎯
The U13 continues to consist of a group of talented young players from the former U12, who have grown together as a team over the years under the guidance of Gerd Treffer. Additionally, five new external players have joined, strengthening the squad to a total of 16 players. With many players capable of playing multiple positions, the team possesses great versatility. "Our strength lies in our ability to be flexible in terms of personnel and tactics," emphasizes Hasan. This homogeneity and harmony within the team can be essential building blocks for a successful season.
Preparation and Outlook 🚀
The team is looking optimistically towards the start of the season on August 24th. The first home game against SC Bendorf-Sayn is then on the agenda. With three weekly training sessions, the team is working intensively to start the season optimally prepared.
This year's Rheinlandliga for D-Juniors includes 14 teams, of which the last four will be relegated to their respective leagues. This is a challenge that the U13 team of Ahrweiler BC is confidently facing. Coach Hasan is confident that the team is capable of playing a convincing season.

Hasan is supported by co-trainer Bella Angelova, goalkeeper coach Marc Viehfeger, and team manager Björn Glasner. Together, the coaching and management team forms a stable and experienced unit that aims to guide the team optimally through the season. "We as a coaching staff work well together," says Hasan. "Our collaboration and team cohesion are key to our success."
