The ABC junior teams of U16 and U15 had a tight schedule to complete on the second day of their season-ending tour in Gräfenroda. After a donation biathlon, the first of two test matches was scheduled, followed by a visit to the photo exhibition “Flood in Ilmenau and the Ahr Valley”. In the evening, the players concluded the event at the city festival in Ilmenau.
The donation biathlon was a great success. In total, the ABClers and members of the Lions Club from Arnstedt raised just under 3000.00 euros for the youth department of the Ahrweiler BC at the shooting ranges with laser rifles and on the 400-meter track. Particularly outstanding was the performance of young ABCler William Gläsmann, who completed 50 rounds (20 km) and scored all five possible hits.
In the subsequent performance comparison against the strong and likeable B-Juniors of SV 09 Arnstadt, the ABC youth team unfortunately had to accept a clear 3-0 defeat. However, that did not dampen the cheerful atmosphere at the Ilmenau Town Festival. Prior to that, the players had also had the opportunity to visit the “Ilmenau Flooding and the Ahrtal Photo Exhibition”.
The second day of the season-ending tour was therefore full of activities and achievements. The ABC juniors not only demonstrated their athletic skills, but also made an important contribution to the youth department of Ahrweiler BC through their participation in the fundraising run. Tomorrow marks the final day of the tour, and we are excited to see what further experiences and challenges await the players. Stay tuned!
