In the last game of the Ahrweiler BC U12 team against JSG Bad Breisig, there were both bright spots and shadows, as coach Gerd Treffer emphasized in his analysis. He referred to the different performances of his boys in the two halves of the game. After a clear 5:1 victory in the end, the Kreisstadt juniors are in second place in the Kreisklasse with six points after the second matchday.
In the first half, the district capital's junior team was in a not-so-good position, trailing 0-1 from the hosts' perspective. However, Coach Treffer was impressed by his players' performance after the break and focused on the positive development in the second half: "The boys did a great job. We kept the ball moving, combined brilliantly, were dangerous in front of goal, and didn't let anything slip at the back. Compliments to my team."
Philip von Sanden was instrumental in the turnaround when he scored a brace shortly after the break to turn the game around. Levi Figura, Lasse Claesgens, and Leo Ensafi further increased the score and, along with the entire team, contributed to the deserved clear victory.
The U12 is already looking forward to its next challenge when they host JSG Zissen next Friday.
The positive development and commitment of the young players promise promising prospects for the team's future.
