Before the C Juniors' district league match last Saturday against VfR Koblenz, the coaching duo Fabian Lorca and Karl-Heinz Classen had several challenges to overcome. Injuries and health problems influenced the lineup, as did tactical considerations and the players' current form. Nevertheless, our team prevailed with a deserved 7:3 victory (3:0).
Apart from a phase at the end of the first half, in which the visitors gained the upper hand, the ABC youth team created numerous scoring chances up to halftime. The 3-0 lead at the break was flattering for VfR Koblenz, and it seemed as if the game was already decided.
However, Koblenz showed impressive effort and had an outstanding player in their ranks with hat-trick scorer Mark Telmann. VfR narrowed the deficit to 3-2 and 4-3, and seemed on the verge of completely turning the game around. But in the end, the ABC youth came out on top, securing a clear victory after a strong finish with three goals in the last ten minutes. Overall, a deserved success for our young ABClers, who have had an excellent start to the season with seven points. The goals for our young talents from the district capital were scored by: Simon Gros (3), Lewin Nazifi (2), Erlis Hetemi, and Parsa Fakhraei.
The current third-place team faces a tough challenge next weekend when they meet the strong promoted team FC Cosmos Koblenz, who are in second place in the league table with 10 points. We are ready to take on the challenge!
