++ U17 WITH 3:2 WIN IN LAST TEST MATCH AGAINST TROISDORF ++

Ahrweiler BC's U17 team successfully completed their dress rehearsal before the official start of the season. In their second preparation match on Sunday in Bachem, the team coached by Fabian Lorca defeated district league side SF Troisdorf 3-2 (2-1). After an opening loss against JSG Erft 01, this time they had a win on their record – which also marked the end of their test match series.

The match began intensely. ABC was immediately present and worked aggressively to win the ball. Alexander Braun (symbol photo) rewarded the strong start with the 1-0 goal (30th minute). Just two minutes later, Giulio Cristofalo increased the lead with a penalty kick after Braun was fouled in the penalty area. However, Troisdorf exploited a gap on the right side and pulled one back before halftime (35th minute).

After the change of sides, the visitors equalized after an attack down the hosts' left defensive flank (64th minute). However, the response was swift: substitute Ben Megow remained ice-cold in front of goal and slid the ball past the keeper into the net (69th minute) – the winning goal.

"We wanted to take a good feeling into the week with us – and we succeeded. The guys showed that they can get back up again even after setbacks," said Lorca after the game.

Already on Wednesday, the first round of the Rheinlandpokal awaits at JSG Unterahr Sinzig, before the team competes in the season opener against JSG Vulkaneifel Kottenheim on the weekend.
