++U17: SERIAL OFFENDERS SHARE POINTS AGAIN++

Fabian Lorca, Karl Heinz Classen, and Jürgen Deutsch's U17 district league team remained undefeated for the fifth consecutive league game, but had to settle for a draw for the fourth time in a row. On Saturday, the B-Juniors drew 2-2 (1-1) with SG Mülheim-Kärlich II on the artificial turf in Bachem on the 20th matchday and are currently in ninth place in the standings.

Weaknesses in the standard defense were revealed early on. Instead of a fine "Beerenauslese" (a type of sweet dessert wine), the young ABC players from the wine metropolis of the Ahr region only served a solid "Tafelwein" (table wine). Mülheim-Kärlich exploited the disarray after a set piece to take a 1-0 lead (16th minute). However, the team showed a quick reaction: after a cross from U17 captain Jakob Forster, U15 captain Dion Ademaj scored the equalizer to make it 1-1 (27th minute). That was the score at halftime, although both teams had further opportunities to go into the break with a lead.

The home team, now playing much more stably, then delivered the first exclamation point of the second half. After a precise through ball from David Lorca, Mohamed Al-Abd put his team ahead 2-1 (56th minute). More chances were to follow: Mats Oberlies narrowly missed twice, and Julien Kuhn was unlucky with a shot that hit the post. But the hoped-for three points didn't materialize. In the 75th minute, Mülheim-Kärlich scored the equalizer – a free kick from midfield sailed past teammates and opponents alike into the goal.

On Tuesday, the league leaders, JFV Schieferland, await – a point gained would already be considered a success.
