As part of their season preparation, the U23 team of Ahrweiler BC swapped their usual training grounds for dumbbells, jump ropes, and free weights for an evening. Under the guidance of Nino Patzel, owner of the "Kraftscheune (kraftscheune.de)" located in the Grafschaft region and a certified personal trainer, 19 players completed an intensive session of functional strength training.
It was thrown, jumped, run, pulled, pushed, hit, kicked, and climbed—with the goal of training agility and explosiveness for the upcoming season. The "Power Barn" concept offers the best conditions for this: In addition to ample space, athletes have numerous free weights available to explore and push their individual limits during dumbbell training. In the "Power Barn," nothing is left to chance: exercises are coordinated, professionally guided, and promote functional strength development through practical exercises.
Under the observation of U23 coach Ricardo Ribeiro, who was satisfied with his team's discipline and commitment, the players visibly broke a sweat in the summer temperatures. "The boys are really pulling their weight," Ribeiro summarized after the session.
Ahrweiler BC would like to sincerely thank Nino Patzel for the qualified training session, which was made possible for the team at a special price. It was a demanding yet rewarding change of pace in the preparation plan – a session that fostered strength and team spirit, and offered the players another building block on the path to a successful pre-season.
