U23 FROM AHRWEILER BC FACES AWAY MATCH AGAINST LEAGUE LEADERS SG ETTDRINGEN

Next Sunday, the Ahrweiler BC U23 team faces a real test: On the second matchday of the Kreisliga A, the team coached by Ricardo Ribeiro will visit SG Ettringen – and thus the current league leaders. The hosts had a dream start to the season with an impressive 9-0 victory over SG Dernau and showed they are in strong early form.

Take the confidence from the opening

However, Ahrweiler's U23 also goes into the match with a positive experience. The 3:2 home win against DJK Plaidt was hard-fought, but brought important three points at the start. "We've seen that we can be determined in decisive moments. Now it's important to call on this mentality for 90 minutes against a top opponent like Ettringen," emphasizes Ribeiro.

Focused Training Week

During the week, the team worked on tactical procedures with focus, especially on transitions and defensive organization. "Training attendance was high despite some absences, and the guys worked very disciplined. That makes us optimistic," said the coach.

Good balance sheet speaks for ABC

Statistically speaking, the U23 is also heading into the duel with confidence: Out of the last seven league games against Ettringen, the ABC has won five, with one draw and only one loss.

Personnel Situation

Ribeiro will have to do without Adlin Dervishi, Armin Karic, Ibrahim Seeil and Philip Schmidgen (all on vacation) as well as the injured Benedikt Färber on Sunday. There are still question marks over the availability of the injured Muris Susa, Senad Sukic and Gabriel Wüst.

Kickoff in Ettringen is on Sunday at 2:30 PM.

Let's go guys - give it your all!
