The 3rd team's first training session last Tuesday also marked the beginning of a new chapter. For Mohamed Abou-Ayda, who voluntarily stepped down from his position and was briefly substituted by Furkan Kalin as player-coach, Besmir Bajcinca is now responsible as head coach of the C-League team. Even though he started the season as an active player himself, he is according to Gianfranco Di Francesco an ideal candidate for this position. "Besmir knows the team, is a reliable and structured person, and is eager for his new role. I am convinced that he will lead the team through a solid second half of the season and create a positive atmosphere," said Di Francesco. After a very good start, the team recently lost its way and went into the winter break in sixth place in the standings. There was very little movement in terms of personnel (new signings will be presented shortly) in the third team's ranks. "The team has good quality," Besmir Bajcinca is convinced of his former teammates. He himself sees himself more on the sidelines than on the pitch in the future. He will be assisted by Visar Suma as co-coach and one of his players, Arian Sulejmani. The 31-year-old already has a clear vision for the rest of the season. "We want to have fun together and play as many successful games as possible," explained the novice coach, who is also already looking ahead: "Next season we want to compete at the top again." This all sounds very reasonable. We wish the new coaching team a lot of fun and success in their task. The team will be back on the pitch as early as next Sunday in their first test match away against Bonner C-League club SV Rot-Weiß Merl.
